Who Is Europe’s Most In-form teams? Barcelona? PSG? Or Manchester City?

Manchester City, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have all made good starts to the new season. They are three clubs in form and the statistics show as much. Between the three, they have scored almost 150 goals and have players like Cavani and Messi in fine form.

However, the numbers also suggest that Unai Emery’s PSG have started the campaign in the best form, ahead of Manchester City and Barçerlona according to Spanish news paper Sport.

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN

PSG have a unique objective this season which is the Champions League. The super project has the aim of making PSG the best side in Europe. For that reason, they signed two of the world’s best players not called Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo: Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. Emery’s side have still not tasted defeat and are dominating Ligue 1.

PSG have scored 56 goals so far this season, conceding just eight and averaging 61.3 percent possession. The trident formed by Cavani (17 goals), Neymar (11) and Mbappe (6) are destroying teams. In Europe, they’re doing well, too. Emery’s team are scoring a goal every 21 minutes in the Champions League, 17 in just four matches. And they have not conceded in the competition, either.

MANCHESTER CITY

Teams can’t compete with this City side designed for and by Guardiola. The Manchester team have scored 52 goals at an average of three per game. The coach’s style has rubbed off on his players and it getting results. They have conceded 10 goals, meanwhile, with 6.9 shot allowed against them per game.

The Catalan coach counts on some of the most exciting attacking talent in Europe. They average 63.1 percent possession per game. Aguero (10), Sterling (10) and Gabriel Jesus (9) have shared the goals between them. City already have an eight-point cushion at the top of the table from Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United. In the Champions League, they’ve won four out of four, too, with 12 goals for and three against.

BARCELONA

Things have changed since Barça began the season with two tough defeats against Real Madrid in the Super Cup. They are now 16 games unbeaten and have a four-point lead over Valencia at the top of La Liga — and are eight points clear of Real Madrid. Ernesto Valverde’s side have scored 41 goals, an average of 2.27 per game, and have conceded just 10, keeping in mind five of them were against Madrid in the Super Cup.

Lionel Messi has scored 16 goals, although Luis Suarez has just three, the same as Paco Alcacer and Paulinho. Barça also lead their Champions League group, although they drew their last game with Olympiakos. Despite their good numbers, the Blaugrana are slightly off the statistics being compiled by City and PSG as published by Sport.
